Innovation: Scaling up Safe and Comfortable Bodas (SACOB) Saving Groups
This innovation is aimed at bringing together community saving groups to acquire and own motor cycles (Bodas) with a carrier that can be used for routine and emergency transport of patients in rural communities. With this transport platform, the members will have a chance to own a fleet of “low cost ambulances” and the revenue generated will be channeled into savings. The members will also be equipped with key information on investment, savings and credit and this will further increase their financial literacy.
Some of the feedback that was given to the team included them considering fabrication of a carrier that could be retrofitted onto the existing motor cycles. The scaling strategy for sustainability of this solution was also not yet clearly and the team was urged to give this a consideration. The team was also informed of an upcoming exhibition organized by RAN and encouraged to apply to showcase their solution.
Pitch Tuesday is a platform for Innovators to present their ideas and get technical feedback. This happens every Tuesday and is open to all interested Innovators.
