The ResilientAfrica Network (RAN), hosted by Makerere University School of Public Health, continues to champion innovative, evidence-based approaches that build and strengthen resilience in African countries. Through our multi-country network of universities and local partners, we have nurtured groundbreaking solutions addressing shocks and stresses related to health, education, agriculture, climate change, digital technologies, conflict, and livelihoods.

By engaging communities in ideation, co-creation, research, and innovation, RAN has empowered thousands of individuals, especially youth and women, to design, prototype, test, scale locally driven solutions that improve lives and transform systems.

Our journey has demonstrated that resilience is not merely about recovering from adversity, but about thriving amidst change. Through Resilience Innovation Labs, capacity-building and strengthening programs, policy dialogues, and partnerships, RAN has bridged academia, policy, and practice, creating a platform where science meets real-world action.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to significantly contributing to fostering a culture of resilience and innovation that inspires sustainable development across Africa, ensuring that communities are better prepared, more adaptable, and truly empowered to shape their futures.
