The University of Malawi (UNIMA), in partnership with Makerere University and the Resilient Africa Network, has launched the ARESRO project to strengthen education systems against future disruptions. The initiative will study risks such as natural disasters and their impact on learning, while generating data to help countries better prepare and adapt.
Funded by GPE KIX and spanning multiple African countries, the project positions UNIMA as a regional leader in building resilient education systems. Officials say the findings will support planning, ensure continuity of learning during crises, and deepen collaboration between institutions.
This project is important because it will generate evidence and data that can support our efforts to build education systems capable of adapting to ongoing and future disruptions
